What is the purpose of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce? The purpose of the Chamber is to advance the commercial and civic interests of the Town of Wilton which is done in a variety of ways including providing networking opportunities for business people; organizing the Halloween and Holiday events; running two 5K road races; Random Acts of Kindness Day; Adopt a Spot; Wilton Gift Certificate; and a variety of other activities.

How much business should I expect as a result of my membership in the Wilton Chamber of Commerce? One of the primary missions of the Chamber is to provide opportunities to business executives to interact and make new connections. Another is to encourage members to buy from other members. The Chamber also does all it can to promote name recognition of and referrals to its members. While the Chamber works very hard to create opportunity for its members, the ultimate responsibility for growing your business rests with you.

What Can the Chamber Do for My Business? Through its committees, programs, and events, the Chamber offers over 100 opportunities for networking, involvement, and promotion. Participation in the Chamber will help you expand your customer base, grow your business, and gain professional knowledge.

What is the Wilton Chamber of Commerce? The Chamber was established in 1989 and is an action association designed to meet business and community needs. This 350 member professional business organization is a combination of both small and large businesses, professionals, and interested individuals who join together to advance the interests of the Wilton community and the region. It is a legislative representative, an information bureau, and a business resource tool for Wilton.

Speaking of the Wilton Gift Certificate, where can I purchase them, how do I pay for them, and in what denominations? The Wilton Gift Certificate is a program of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce. The gift certificate can be purchased in any denomination over $10 at the Chamber office (during available hours); either branch of People's Bank; the Wilton office of Ridgefield Bank; and the Wilton Family YMCA front desk. They can be purchased using cash, check or Mastercard or Visa. All money from the gift certificate program stays right here in Wilton!

Who runs the Wilton Chamber of Commerce? The Chamber is run by its members through an elected Board of Directors who hold regular meetings to discuss upcoming issues and initiatives in which the Chamber will be involved. The officers of the Board of Directors comprise the Executive Committee. The job of the Executive Committee is to review potential new programs and member benefits and to make recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors sets Chamber policy and hires the Executive Director who is the Chamber's community liaison and CEO of the organization. The Executive Director assists in implementing the policies of the Board.

What does the Chamber do? The variety of Chamber activities is virtually unlimited and changes to meet the needs of the business community. Its overall mission of business and community development is reviewed annually and updated as needed.

Who pays for the operation of the Chamber? Membership investment in the Chamber is based on a fair share formula and is the major portion of the organization's income. Chamber membership is an investment in the present and the future of Wilton. Any firm or individual sharing a common interest in community improvement and development is eligible for membership.

It seems like the Chamber is always trying to raise funds and is always asking for donations.  What does the Chamber do with all that money? Gifts and other donations to the Chamber are used to deliver the quality of programs and resources our members expect and deserve.  The Chamber is a non-profit member-driven organization.  Without those donations and contributions we are not able to represent the best interests of business as well as our members expect us to.
